Most of our customers travel in companies and with children. For such clients local touristic sites often recommend the standard program of “must-see” sites: Acropolis, museums, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Park. In our professional opinion none of these places can be of interest for a child. We are going to share with you our favorites in Athens. It does not matter in which order you will visit them.
The first gem is The Benaki Toy Museum of Palaio Faliro. This is an ideal spot for children.
They will be charmed with the vast collection of old traditional toys, contemporary dolls and puppets. Toys from different corners of the world are also exhibited there.
The second spot worth visiting is Xplore Entertainment Center at Golden Hall (in the north of Athens). Three thematic floors of unforgettable experience.
Among the things you will see there are: dinosaurs, racing cars, magic garden, oceanarium. Children are also allowed to dance, dig, build, pass the labyrinth – to name only a few!
Please keep in mind that the tickets have a limited timeframe. You can buy them for each floor separately.
There is also another great place to visit in the north of Athens – the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, the largest museum of such type in Greece.
Both children and adults will learn something new there. The exact copy of triceratops and the stuffed giraffe of the real size can be found there.
Children will be thrilled with this place. My son immediately inserted his finger in the nostril of the stuffed deer.
Among other places for a family visit we can recommend the Museum of Illusions in the center of the capital. There is no need to worry about exhibit damaging (as in the previously mentioned place).
And for young car-lovers there is the Hellenic Motor Museum that offers a free entrance for children up to 5 years. It has a decent collection from vintage automobiles to supercars.
Every exhibit is a unique story of transport evolution.
The last but not least – is the super pair. Attica Zoological Park of 20 hectares has more than 2000 animals of different species.
One can also see the world largest collections of birds, enjoy dolphins show and pet the lemurs.
The amusement park Allou! Fun Park is suitable for the children of all ages. It provides a great variety of breathtaking fairground rides, including virtual reality. For younger visitors it offers a separate zone with carousels and inflatable castle.
